Also is called Independence Day or 4th of July. It is a historical event marked by the Declaration of Independence of the United States, celebrate – if the declaration of independence in 1776 from Britain. All day July 4th is celebrated here in the United States entitled to public holiday. Many families prefer to go further afield, to those who enjoy camping, some do a boat trip (like me), go to the beach and make that nice barbecue (but nothing compared to Brazil). Already the most excellent U.S. President Barack Obama celebrated the 235th anniversary of the country with a barbecue and a concert at the White House in DC, along with a group of military heroes and their families. Barack Obama with the family made a speech in honor of members of various divisions of the Army, and said they “are the reason for this day possible.” I totally agree! Because without them the U.S. would not be the source of peace and world security. Back in New York New York, the audience gathered at the edge of the Hudson River, where is the fireworks of Macy’s would count this year with 40,000 visible explosions on 3 km of coastline, the sound of singers Beyonce and Brad Paisley. New Yorkers also perform on Monday the 125th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France to America in 1886, the centenary of its independence.
Macy’s 4th of July fireworks display took place on the Hudson River – here, a view from New Weehawken, NJ.
